CC to Dodgers?
HUUUGE grain of salt here.
But apparently CC Sabathia has told Ned Colletti that he wants to be a Dodger.
Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti told ESPN.com's Jayson Stark on Monday that he ran into the free agent on Sunday night in a hotel lobby and the left-hander told him that he wants to be a Dodger.
Although the New York Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers have made offers to the prize of the free-agent class, speculation continued that Sabathia would want to play near the home he is building in Southern California.
This could be interesting. If the Yanks don't get CC, I think they'll freak out and throw the bank at Teixeira. Which would make me sad.

As long as the bank injures him to the point of not being able to play.
Kinda like Pavano?

I think
CC would love to be a Yomiuri Giant if they pay him enough money.

Yeah but..
CC has expressed that he is a SoCal guy and wants to play close to home for awhile now. This wouldn’t suprise me if he gave the Dodgers some sort of Hometown discount. Its obviously not about the money like you all seem to think. He is still iffy about about 25 million a year for six years. Its obviously not about the money.

Someone’s gonna choke on this guy’s contract. He may give you 2 or 3 good years but his conditioning and body type will catch up to him. I’d be pissed if the Sox legit tried to sign him. No thanks.

Its not just him...
but any free agent pitcher. Almost all of these guys have been terrible. Its hard to find any pitching free agent deal for more than 3 years that has really worked out. Pitchers are way too inconsistent.

I totally agree
C.C is like a cracker jacks box with out a prize. Short term it seems sweet but without the prize inside it turns sticky and nasty in your stomach causing you to puke violently

Wouldn't it be fitting IF
both CC and Manny signed with the Dodgers for a billion dollars and both end up sitting out the bulk of the season with age related deteriorations! Boy I sure would be a pissed off fan paying those ticket prices to watch the fill ins!
There is an accountablity to fans you know eventually for stupid actions such as ignoring the aging and motivation aspects of the game!!!

CC is only 28...
it seems his size and innings pitched might hurt him in the next few years, but hes still a young man, and will be for most of the contract.

Didn't you read the Beckett post?
28 is the new 45.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

CC's would be weight, not age, most likely.

imagine cc in our line up
If I was Theo
Jacoby Ellsbury R Josh Beckett
Dustin Pedroia L CC
Adam Dunn R Daisuke Matsuzaka
David Ortiz L Jon Lester
Kevin Youkilis K Tim Wakefield
J.D. Drew
Josh Bard
Jason Bay
Jed Lowrie
by keeping cc from the yanks we could send their pithing staff into
a slump for years as ours rises to many titles .

Adam Dunn?

Manny ain't the only bad man.

I certainly wouldn’t bat Josh Bard in front of Bay.

I'm guessing,
you are suggesting Dunn plays 1B and Youk plays 3B? Dunn would never bat third in that lineup, yes he has power, but Youk and Bay and Drew all have better AVG and OBP, IIRC.

Chris Carter is going to be Adam Dunn, except he likes baseball.

Carter is so not going to be the next Adam Dunn
Mother---- him and John Wayne!
