MFY sign Teixeira
According to SI's Jon Heyman, Teixeira signed an 8-year/$180 million deal with the MFY. New York gave Teix a full no-trade clause.
This makes a lot of sense for the MFY, who really needed a bat. ESPN is now reporting the same thing.
The agreement with Teixeira gives New York the four highest-paid players in baseball -- third baseman Alex Rodriguez, shortstop Derek Jeter, Sabathia and Texiera.
I guess the pundits will now make the MFY the favorites to win it all.

Yankees roster now looks like this.
CF Damon
SS Jeter
1B Teixeira
3B A-Rod
C Posada
RF Nady
LF Swisher
DH Matsui
2B Cano
SP
1. CC Sabathia
2. Wang
3. Burnett
4. Joba
5. Hughes (Petitte?)
Scary stuff.
That lineup is good no doubt
But is it really THAT good? Doesn’t look nearly as good as the Tigers’ before last season.
Damon-Still above-average but no longer a great player
Jeter- Doesn’t scare me in the least bit, and he’s only getting older.
Teixeira- Obviously a major threat. One of the top 5 1B in the game.
ARod- Second best hitter in the game
Posada- Good hitter for a C, but injury prone. And he’s not nearly as good as our likely 5 hitter, Jason Bay.
Nady- One good year makes him a great player forever?
Swisher- Decent
Matsui- Great guy to have in the #8 spot.
Cano- Until he can get on-base he won’t be anything more than a little bit above-average.
If you ask me, adding Teixeira and Swisher pretty much cancels out with losing Giambi and Abreu. I would have been much more worried were they to have signed Manny.

Agreed
Also, Posada might not be able to catch. The MFY may have a logjam at DH. However, they have no doubt improved. Cashman did what he had to do—and spent boatloads of money doing it.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Quick thoughts
1. Tex is a fucktaster. I don’t even know what that means, but it was my immediate, guttural reaction.
2. The Yankees should slip on a puddle of AIDS.

How
can the Yanks actually sign him? It seems impossible. And is it really official since he hasn’t really “Signed”?
