Nats improve offer to Mark Teixeira
Too little, too late? I'm at this point where I don't care if the Sox get Mark Teixeira or not. As long as he isn't a Yankee, I'm good.

Let 'em have him
If he wants to play for a contender, the Sox made a good offer. If he just cares about $$$, let him sign with a team that couldn’t find its way out of last place with a flashlight and a map.

$$$
If this is true, the difference between the Sox and Nats are not far off. Let’s assume that every rumor we’ve heard is true, so that the Nats offered ~$180MM and the Sox offered $168MM. The difference there is $22.5 million (AAV) to $21 mil. If Teix is willing to give up perennial playoff berths for an extra $1.5 million a year, he’s not the guy we want on our team.
In the end, I think he’ll do the right thing, and sign with the Sox. I believe Boras is dragging out the negotiations, not Tex. Teixeira wants to get this thing over with as much as we do.
