Don't Forget About Joba
Don’t forget about Joba and his 2.18 ERA. Don’t forget the 152 k’s in 124 innings. And the 1.16 WHIP. This guy is on the verge of domination and please don’t forget that. He is not a reliever turned starter. He is a starter who will have the entire spring to get settled in to his role. He is poised to go 180 innings this year while matching up with the other #4's of the league like Wakefield. I don't want to hear any trash about this KID. His numbers after first 124 innings in the majors DWARF Lester's and Buchholz and Masterson after their first 100 innings. Joba seems to be flying under the radar right now because of the money Yankees spent on pitching. The fact is that of all the pitchers between the Yankees and Red Sox, Joba has the most upside.

Unfortunately for Yankees fans
His numbers aren’t the only thing that dwarf Lester/Buchholz/Masterson.
He hasn’t proven he can last the year as a starter. Sure. when he pitches, he’s great (unless something’s really on the line or it’s a little buggy), but unless he can stay healthy (and away from the Krispy Kreme), he’s the next Rich Garces instead of Ron Guidry.
Joba has a shitload of potential, and if he can stay healthy he's going to be great
That being great, he’s an asshole and if he doesn’t stop head-hunting all the time he won’t be anything other than a punk.
Mother---- him and John Wayne!
Wow.
“Louis likes Joba.” Wow. My mind is blown.
Did this really need it’s own Fanpost?
Manny ain't the only bad man.
+1
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

This is the kid you are having wet dreams about Louie:

Clutch: A measurement of how much better or worse a player does in high leverage situations than he would have done in a context neutral environment. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/glossary/
Shouldn't this post be on Pinstripe Alley?

I have a feeling that Louie isn't well liked over there either.

Will Joba
be able to make it through an entire season?
MFY rotation 09:
Sabathia – terrible in the playoffs, gets shelled.
Burnett – Now that he has a big deal, he can go back on the DL.
Hughes – The over hyped, under achieving savior of the franchise.
Joba – Hank will find a way to screw this kids stuff up and he will be on the DL by June.
Wang – cant say anything bad about this guy, I like him.
So 2 DL bound pitchers, a choke artist and a kid in way over his head.
Poor Chin Ming Wang, he will have to pitch every game in the playoffs.
You FORGOT Ian Kennedy?!?!
And the biggest problem with Joba is that there’s huge disagreement within the organization about how he should get into the rotation.

Totally agree
and this is why Hank will screw this kid up.
Plus no one has mentioned how terrible their projected bullpen looks without Joba anchoring the 8th inning.
NEBRASKA!!!!!!!!

Pitch Counts
are what is going to kill the Yankees next year.
Your precious Joba pitched 100 innings last year, if he pitches 180 innings this year, his arm will literally fall off. He will pitch 160.
Burnett is a question mark on whether or not he will get injured. Lets say he doesn’t and he pitches 180 innings.
Wang is great, however he only pitched 95 innings last year. He will pitch 160 this year.
Hughs pitched 70 innings last year. He will pitch 140 innings.
That leaves either CC or some AAA fool pitching the rest of your innings. This leaves you with a tired CC, tired bullpen, and some shmuck on the mound for 1/4 of your starters innings.
If Burnett is healthy, he will pitch at least 200.
A rested Wang should be ready to go for at least 180 IP.
Don’t underestimate the Yankees and their rotation- it is very good.
Its good but not as amazing as people are making it out to be.
If what you say about Burnett is true he has only been healthy 3 years in his whole career. I will take the odds and say he won’t be healthy.
Joba is the future pitcher of the Yankees there is no way in this modern day of baseball that they will risk having pitch that much more over 160 innings.
