Lugo for Byrnes?
According to ESPN:
The Red Sox are having discussions with the Diamondbacks about a Julio Lugo-for-Eric Byrnes swap. Brynes would serve as a fourth outfielder for Boston; Lugo would play second base for the Diamondbacks.
This actually makes some sense. Byrnes would be the right-handed hitting 4th OF the Sox need. Over the last three seasons, Byrnes hit .283 AVG/.351 OBP/.516 SLG against lefties. Byrnes has one advantage over Baldelli: he can start if/when Drew gets hurt.

Lugo for anybody.
Just take his salary obligation, and that would be enough for me! Get him out of here!!!
About $2-3 million less than Lugo
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Really?
I thought Byrnes had a really dumb contract – lots of money/years?
And would this mean no Tek?
Manny ain't the only bad man.
He has more years left, if I can recall
I’m too lazy to check, sorry.
Mother---- him and John Wayne!

Byrnes makes more . . .
Lugo – 2 years @ 18 million
Byrnes – 2 years @ 22 million finished the year on the sixty day dl . . .if he is going to be the fourth OF then he’ll prolly need between 285-305 abs . . . .
Maybe if we eat some salary?
Although idk, maybe the difference in $4MM would be enough.
I like the idea, Byrnes would be a perfect #4 OF, and he probably won’t get injured if he’s riding the bench 2/3 of the time.
I am for it
both teams want to get rid of the player, similar contracts, and useful for the other team. Seems pretty perfect.
I wonder if we would have to throw in a low level prospect?
I’ve gotta think Byrnes has more value than Lugo, even with the money owed to him.
I like it
Byrnes is coming off a horribly disappointing 2008 season, but he had a very good season in 2007. I’m all for the swap. Lugo is useless to us.

The trade seems unlikely now
The D-Backs just signed IF Felipe Lopez. I can’t see them wanted Lugo too.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.
Hmm... trading a player who doesn't seem to care about errors but puts in a lot of actual effort into each play...
for a guy who is crazy about the game but over exaggerates his effort.

I guess I'm more interested in the on-field results.
Eric Byrnes is simply a better player at this point.
Yes yes yes yes yes!!
NG-sounding title. But really, I would rather have him than Dontrelle Willis/Nate Robertson.
Well, I will appreciate for you to keep my zingers out of your mouth!
