RUSSELL MARTIN!!!
GET HIM! Oh, and the Tek/Tigers rumor might be dead. Kinda hard to sign Tek and not change your payroll to much, unless they have a lot of extra cash difference left.
Comments
Yes, PLEASE.
Trade for Martin, let them sign Varitek, get a first-round pick from LAD. Laugh all the way to the World Series.

Name the players that are untouchable:

Lars, Reddick, Bowden, Kelly, Westy, Diaz?
Everyone else is available.

No one is untouchable. Not even Capone.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?playerId=6390 Russell Martin
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?playerId=6304 Ryan Doumit
Doumit has a slighly better average.
Well, I'll appreciate for you to keep my zingers outta your mouth!

Dude, don't use Espen for stats.
BB-ref much better. More stats too.

http://www.baseball-reference.com/d/doumiry01.shtml
Doumit had his first good season, and Martin had his first bad season. Both of their numbers came out similar this past year. I’d pick Martin for a career for the Sox.

ESPN has its uses
For example, you can find cERA, Iso, K/9, BB/PA, AB/HR, and other things there. B-Ref doesn’t calculate many of the sabermetric stats, but it’s useful for other things, such as splits.

Okay, change my subject line to read:
Don’t use one year’s batting average to judge a player.
