Ryan Dempster Anyone?
If this happens, the Cubbies supposedly would go after Peavey harder. Does that mean that Peavey is more worth going after, or that Dempster would be a roster spot conveniently emptied for him? Does anyone want to see the glove shaking in Boston next season?

No. and No.
Peavy is overrated, having spent his entire career pitching in the NL, in a pitcher’s park. Burnett would be much better, has success in the AL East, and wouldn’t cost prospects.
Ryan Dempster has one good year as a starter. That’s not enough.
