Red Sox fan accused of assaulting Angels fan in court this week in OC
A Boston fan in court this week for allegedly assaulting an Angels fan in Anaheim during the 2004 ALCS.
Daniel Slama, a 33-year-old Angels fan, suffered two broken vertebrae and a concussion when he was chased down by an angry Red Sox fan after somebody hit him on the head with a thunder stick - those inflatable noisemakers. Slama is still recovering.
David Hackman, 37, the Red Sox fan and a former deputy sheriff in San Benito County, is on trial this week in Orange County Superior Court, charged with battery causing serious injuries.
