Sox just feel right
The red sox this year just seem to feel right. They are underdogs in this series against the Angels, but Red Sox Nation is not in a panic. Is this because we got our World Series and are happy with that, or that it just feels right this year. On Wendesday, Mike Greenberg, from Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN Radio picked the Red Sox to win just because it feels right. It's a gut feeling. The Red Sox have the number of the Angels, they can't beat them in the regular season, but once it's the postseason they continue to dominate the Angels. Now some people would say maybe it was the Angels just blowing it. But look back at game one and how John Lackey pitched great and made just one mistake. And back to last year when to beat the Angel's in a game it took Manny's walk off homerun. Now even with the hard year the sox had we still fear nothing, because it just feels so right.

If you believe in a structured fate, then
the Red Sox will at least make it to the World Series, and will play Manny, Nomar, Derick and the rest of the Dodgers for the championship. You see the forces at play in the universe like a struggle with real overarching meaning, and a world series with Manny playing against the Red Sox would certainly provide that tension in spades!!!

I am actually hoping for this scenario
1) it would piss off MFY fan. Can you imagine Torre in the WS against the Sox…A MFY fans worst nightmare.
2) it would piss off Halo fan.
3) Bill Simmons might shut up and stop crying about how Manny is gone and his Red Sox are not as interesting as the teams that win.
4) I think it would be great to have Manny come back, get a standing O from everyone and then get his head kicked in, and get swept.
5) LA fans will be as giddy as the Laker/Celtic finals and cry just as much when they lose in 4 games. I love hearing LA fans cry about their teams when they are “celebrity” fans.
6) Maybe we can have Cameron Diaz show up to game 3 and Jennifer Aniston for game 4. There will be some “lookers” for both sexes showing up to those games.
7) how crazy the Japanese media would get for a Dice-K/Kuroda matchup, that would be fun to watch.
8) Tommy Lasorda, the dude is hilarious…
9) I could get tickets to the LA games and party my ass off at Sonny McClean’s, Red Sox Nation West, and dance in the streets of Santa Monica and walk home.

Playoffs
In my opinion, the playoffs are a crap shoot. It is nearly impossible to predict who is going to advance. As a fan, the most you can ask from your team is for them to get into the playoffs. The playoffs are for them. It is their time to have fun, there is no replacement for October baseball.
I wouldn’t say this year feels “right”. It doesn’t feel as right as last year did. I think most Sox fans look at our team and realized we underachieved during the regular season and we still came out with 95 wins and a trip to the postseason. The team realizes they were injured 100% of the regular season and never really got into a groove. It is their time to get into a groove and show the world what kind of team they really are, a World Series winning caliber team.

Continued
I would agree with your point that we did underachieve, but i am not scared of the Angels. They are the best team and yet i don’t fear them. I think the teams to beat in the AL are the Rays and in the NL i only fear the Dodgers. But we might not get that far anyway, but we know we can beat anyone in this league and we proved it the last few years.

Agree on the Rays
The Rays are the team to beat. Any of the 4 AL teams will sweep the Dodgers in the World Series. Too much pitching, too many bats.
Plus home field advantage is huge in the World Series. Especially for the Rays and us.

Re: The Dodgers
They have good starting pitching and a decent offense. LA may be tough in a short series. Then again, they may not get past the Phillies.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Dodgers vs. Phillies
They match up pretty well on paper, but I have to give the Dodgers the edge. I like their line-up better and their bullpen. Philly’s redeemer is Cole Hamels; can he carry the team?
