Do you like this story?

I'll start.
BOOO! to everything today. And the Rays are good. Arguments about whether the fans deserve this are irrelevant, because the team itself is talented enough to go up 2-1 in our ballpark, obviously.

Nobody is knocking the team here
Congrats to the Rays for the great season they’ve been having. Their manager also has done a great job, obviously.

My point wasn't that people were knocking the Rays.
It’s that, determining whether this is deserved or not should be based on the team itself.
Yeah, there’s a good chunk of their fans that have only realized baseball is being played in St. Petersburg over the last few weeks, and you know what? Who the F cares? They schooled us today, and there were plenty of Red Sox fans in attendance to see it happen.
"Are you a real doctor, or a doctor like Dr. Pepper is a doctor?"
The point is
you’re making a mountain out of molehill.
The Rays have been a great story, going from perennial loser to possible champion, and the Sox have been inspiring, accomplishing what they have under a lot of adversity. Kudos to both teams and their fans.

Wakes
Wakes pitches 5 good innings
Okajima throws the 6th
Masterson throws the 7th
Pap throws 8 and 9
Day off on Wednesday
Everyone here would take a 2-2 series at the start of the series…
Win tomorrow and the nerves will be gone
I just do not believe Wake can do it anymore!
Besides even if he could, the hitting potential on this team seems to have gone away in 5 of the nine slots. Fancona seems to either be at a loss on who to play that will hit, or maybe he just knows he does not have the personnel anymore to get at least 7 hitters in there! I wish it were otherwise, but my God today was as bad as it gets, and shows a team in over their head!

And still get to play tomorrow.
What will the Angels be doing, again?

Lackey is playing golf.
This is better.
"no1 has time to read your long comments, are you writing a book?"
Furthermore,
Lackey is probably blaming the groundskeepers for his bogey.
"You know you're having a bad day when the fifth inning rolls around and they drag the warning track." - Mike Flanagan, Baltimore Orioles pitcher, 1992.
i gotta say
that i was one of those people who automatically assumed lester = win, and now i’m a little confused. i am also nervous about wake..even when he’s been good, he still throws pitches that are very dangerous, and the rays seem to be catching the mistakes that the sox starters are making. i don’t see anyone (i don’t care who) winning 2 in a row AT fenway.
here’s to forgetting about tonight and praying for tomorrow.

I was one of those people too.
As Beckett and Lester are showing us, even the best pitchers have bad nights.
"It's just a tiny little nick, but it hurts when I get champagne in there."
- Jason Bay, on getting spiked scoring the winning run in ALDS Game Four.
it scares me though that they BOTH have had bad nights against the same team.

The more years you watch sports
the more you realize that nothing is ever automatic. In fact, when everyone says something is sure to happen, expect the opposite!

Grr...
Remember when we were kids and we mixed sodas together and called them "suicides"? It was OK though, because Dr. Pepper was always there.
It was disappointing...
On many levels…the double play was a real downer for me, and I continue to wonder about Varitek and his strike outs. Timlin, in my view, ought not have even made the roster.
I do have some confidence in Wake…he’s done it before, and always when I think he’s done he pitches one of those magical games where the opposing team looks like bufoons when swinging at the dancing knuckleball.
