you know what's annoying to me whenever i bring up a conversation to a yankee fan about the redsox-yankee drama they always say one thing. 26 as in the 26 world championships they've won over the years i don't know about you but it pisses me off when ever they do that because all i care about is whos in first and currently its the redsox so what does a yankee fan say when i tell then whos in first. 26. and also one more thing when you have a devil ray fan and they say that the redsox are gonna get smoked in the playoffs when the devil rays have'nt sniffed the playoffs. EVER.

What's a "Devil Rays fan"?

When I encounter such Yankee fans, I often* tell them that they sound french. When they say "what the eff is that spose t'mean?" I respond that living off past glories is a very french thing to do. Did you know that at one time France had the most dominant land army in the world? A lot of good it does them now, huh?

* I say "often" because I gauge the situation based on the inebriation level of said YF, the degree to which I consider them a friend, and their size. I'm a big guy, and a wise ass, but I'm not stupid.

Yeah, now the French only have the best health care system in the world...

Honestly, who cares about this stuff? The Sox have had a great year, and next year could be even better. The Yankees had an incredible recovery after sucking the first two months. Both groups of fans should be happy their teams are making the playoffs.

I live in NYC, and I wear my fandom on my sleeve (or on my forehead), so I get lots of grief. But its all good natured, so far. We may be seeing pretty soon how well my Sox hat goes over during a Sox-Yanks ALCS...

I 'O4, when I used to live in NYC, I wore my hat into the office during the ALCS and one of the security guys says "Aww hell no!  You are NOT wearing that in MY house!"  I just laughed, MYF fans have an overdeveloped sense of themselves. Dude, you're a security guard...you don't OWN 4 Times Sq.!

yeah, i hates it when someone just goes on and on and on with no punctuation or capital letters and then they talk about how annoying something is and you're wondering does this guy no how annoying that is when you don't use periods or captial letters anyway jess sayin'

It's not that I like awful grammar and run-on sentences. I don't. I think it makes you look petty and immature to make fun of someone who has typed their post in that way.

And what thread? I don't remember referencing anything in the past when I posted.

If you mean the incident where you accused me (with no evidence) of being a troll, then I'm not sure what justification you could've had, reasons or not.

The worst is when a Red Sox fan meets a Yankee fan and happens to bring up the 2004 ALDS.  Yankee fans will always say something like, "Oh man, that was in 2004, THREE YEARS AGO!"  As if Yankee fans completely ignore everything that happens in the past (they always brag about the number 26.)  Last I checked, 6 teams have won a world series since the Yankees last one, including Beantowne.

The '26' rejoinder is dumb. As a Yankee fan, I wouldn't throw that out as my response to a Sox fan's chant of 'we're # 1.'

I would simply say that being the # 1 team in the AL East, with a lead that has dwindled at a nearly historic rate since May 29, ain't much to write home about. Since the All-Star break, the Yankees have been the best team in MLB.

Congratulations on your division crown, and good luck with the Angels. I hope we meet you in the ALCS. It's always interesting.
