Enough already

I'm sorry I have to do this, but enough already Red Sox Nation. We're winning the division. Get over it.

I'm so tired of hearing about when "the slide is going to start" or when "the wheels are going to fall off". I know some of you on OTM are the typical trolls, but I hear this from genuine, dyed-in-the-wool Sox fans and I'm tired of it.

Star-divide

Earth to Sox fans:

We have lead the AL East since April! And while I haven't watched it consistently I believe we have had the best record in baseball for the same length.

Do you think the MFY would be acting like a bunch of neurotic freaks just waiting for the other shoe to drop? No. Just enjoy it. Yes we've had our share of disappointments and unfulfilled wishes things like Bill F'ing Buckner, and 1978 come to mind, but lets get real, shy of a Buckner class screw-up we're really going to the playoffs.

Don't count your chickens before they're hatched, but lets go on ahead and start counting the chicks we do have, eh? Not even the craziest of Yankee fans think they're going to win the AL East. So lets cross our fingers for Seattle (as long as they keep their moose away from our center fielder and move on to what we really do need to start worrying about: the playoffs.

Re: Enough already
Seriously!  My ex, who I in some way credit for every New England sports victory since 2001 (when I recruited her as a fan...remember that Dallas Cowboys run in the 90's?  Yeah that was her.  Just to piss me off no less!), has said over and over that the Red Sox have the worst fans. "You're all these nervous guys, hunched over your beers hoping not to lose!...that's no way to root for a team!  Part of rooting is KNOWING your team is gonna win regardless." [I'm paraphasing here, but you get the idea.]  Anyway, other than a short spell where the Brewers had the best record, the Sox have been the best team in Baseball ALL F-ing year.  Winning...get used to it!

Just back to the net
Hey. Been off-line for the last week - did the sky fall yet?

I just read a Gammons piece where he says "two days after Joba Chamberlain fired a 100-mph pitch over Kevin Youklis' head and looked at Alex Rodriguez for approval..."

Is that true? I herd about the incident, and the suspension, but was there evidence it was intentional?

Go Mariners.

Just my two cents. Keep the change.

Re: Just back to the net
When it happens once, it might be an accident. When it happens twice in the same at bat, it's either intentional or the pitcher lacks the control to pitch in high school, let alone the majors.

Re: Just back to the net
I have to say though...I did see the interview with him after the game and he seemed honestly worried about it.  Almost scared really.

Re: Just back to the net
That could be because he was ashamed for throwing at another player.
