potg: lowell
buchholz: 6IP 6H 3ER 2BB 6K
A&B: Dusty with double, Ortiz goes yard, the lineup card spells Buchholz's name wrong.

Re: Open Thread: 9.1.07 vs. Baltimore
Clay has held the O's hitless through four. The only O to reach was Nick Markakis, who was hit by a pitch in the first inning. He has 3 Ks thus far, and has thrown 44 pitches. Not too shabby.

Re: Open Thread: 9.1.07 vs. Baltimore
After back-to-back-to-back 2-out singles, Papi just missed a grand slam but settled for a bases clearing double to put the Sox up 4-0.

Re: Open Thread: 9.1.07 vs. Baltimore
After he walked 2 batters to start the inning, Clay gets out of the fifth with a strikeout, ground out, and fly out.

Re: Open Thread: 9.1.07 vs. Baltimore
Buchholz walked Roberts - his third walk of the night - to start the sixth, but picked him off on a nice move to first.

Re: Open Thread: 9.1.07 vs. Baltimore
Clay's at 80 pitches through 6... does he have enough gas to go 9? He's said in the past that he feels he throws better later in games...

Re: Open Thread: 9.1.07 vs. Baltimore
That pickoff could be key in his ability to go deep in the game.

Re: Open Thread: 9.1.07 vs. Baltimore
They finally put it on on ESPN.

Clay looks like he's about 16 years old, and he just threw a no-no in his second big league start.

Re: Open Thread: 9.1.07 vs. Baltimore
We need a few more spot starts and fewer appearances from our regular starters if this is what we're going to get!

Re: Open Thread: 9.1.07 vs. Baltimore
I'd like to take this moment to clarify that when I made my OTM pick for today, I meant to say that Clay Buchholz would throw a no-hitter.
