Hello from Viva EL Birdos!

We have had a little chatter about Willy Mo's Availability. In your mind as Sox fans what would you realistically accept back from St. Louis for Willy Mo if a trade were to happen. Just curious. Guys at Viva are proposing a relief pitcher of sorts. Any interest in a reliver or starter or maybe a utility guy?

Re: Hello from Viva El Birdos...
I'd trade him for Ryan Franklin in a heartbeat.

Hello birdie
What about Wainwright? Seems criminally undervalued by your managers. Though I know I wouldn't make the trade from your side.

Or what about Bryan Anderson plus cash?

It's definitely a buyer's market where Wily Mo's involved.

Re: Hello from Viva El Birdos...
I'd give you WMP for Pujols, but I'm willing to negotiate.

Re: Hello from Viva El Birdos...
We're just pulling your chain (for the most part. We like WMP for Pujols straight up, though).

Re: Hello from Viva El Birdos...

Re: Hello from Viva El Birdos...
Why would the Sox wany Encarnacion?  His salary is more than twice Wily Mo's, he is 6 years older, and his career numbers are similar:

Encarnacion .269 AVG/.317 OBP/.442 SLG
Wily Mo: .256 AVG/.311 OBP/.468 SLG

As much as I want to see the Sox move Pena, Encarnacion isn't an upgrade as a 4th OF.  I'd rather have Taguchi, but I wouldn't trade Wily Mo for him--unless the Cards sweetened the pot.

I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Agreed. Throw in Pujols, and we'll take it!

This is so weird to read as a Sox fan living in St. Louis.

pena thoughts
Hes a mediocre outfielder at best, and he swings at anything. If he ever refined his swings he'd easily hit 40-50 homeruns a year. The guy has as much power as anybody in the game. I think 5 years from now he could break out and give a team an ortiz-like experience, but if the sox can get rid of him for somthing now they should.

Russ Springer?
I got someone calling for a Russ Springer for Big Mo.

Re: Hello from Viva El Birdos...
How about WMP for Chris Carpenter? You're not going to get any use out of Carpenter for at least a year anyway, but you'd get a guy with 50 HR potential.

Re: Hello from Viva El Birdos...
WMP for Izzy would be a great deal.

Another interesting thing that has little to no chance of happening would be WMP for Yadier Molina. The Cards did fine at C when Molina was out and they have a prospect by the name of Bryan Anderson who might be able to play next year. Considering how good of a defensive catcher Yadier is he probably could catch the knuckler, and would be a premium backup to Varitek.
