I didn't expect a shutout...knew the Yanks would score tonight.

Sox are hitting Wang though...he doesn't look his best either...

Bottom of the 9th
They're using Proctor to close?

Re: Bottom of the 9th
It's a 6 run lead.  They're not using Mo, and Torre doesn't trust Britton or Bruney.

Re: Bottom of the 9th
Nah. They just wanted to try to take Youk's head off. I wish he would have charged the mound, and beat the fuck out of Proctor.

Re: 6/01/07 - MFY @ BOS

Proctor
just tried to hit Youk. He was ejected. Youk had to be held back. I told ya he'd try to hit Youk. I fuckin' told ya.

Re: 6/01/07 - MFY @ BOS
3 Yanks hit- 2 Sox.
I'll wait for the post-game, but I don't think Proctor was trying to hit Youk in the head.  Just judging from his reaction, he wasn't standing there defiantly.  He was throwing at him, but not aimed at his head.

Re: 6/01/07 - MFY @ BOS
Are you BLIND. He was going for the head.

Whoever Wake hit, it was pretty obvious he had no control. A Rod got grazed and wasn't injured. Cano was a screw up by a young pitcher. Proctor is a seasoned pro and he knew what he was doing, and the Lowell hit took him out of the game.

That's bullshit. They went after the two hottest batters.

Meh.  It was always ok when Pedro did it.

Bottom of the 9th
Villone in for Proctor. Youk on 1st. Ortiz at bat. Villone gets lots of time to warm up. I guess that what you get when you play dirty.

Post Mortem
We'll have to thank Wang for all the hits, but Wake was a disaster on the mound. Lets face it if it weren't for him this game would have been open and shut and the Yanks would be 14.5 down instead of 12.5. He allowed 8 of the 9 runs, and walked 6 runners.

The Yankees didn't hit particularly well 11 to our 13. Wake just handed the game to them. He definately ought to get a Mendoza.

Oh and I forgot
Congratulations to the Yankees for moving out of last. 4th place suits you well.
