Giambi finally admits to steriods

Something we all already knew, but for once he finally isn't dodging the question or whether he did steriods. Technically he has admitted it before, but never directly. While talking about steriods he mentioned:

"I was wrong for doing that stuff," Giambi told the newspaper Wednesday

USA Today

Which is funny because he still is dodgy about it even when admitting:

"That stuff didn't help me hit home runs. I don't care what people say, nothing is going to give you that gift of hitting a baseball."

When asked, "So why did you take steroids?" Giambi said: "Maybe one day I'll talk about it, but not now."

...umm, I'm pretty sure he took it becasue it DOES help you hit home runs. I'm sure it doesn't help someone make contact with the ball better, but pushing a regular flyball a couple feet further into the stands with more power...pretty sure that helps

Re: Giambi finally admits to steriods
Oh, and apparently he is a repeat offender and completely full of it when he says "sorry". After saying sorry in 2004 (you remember the slumb he had the season, hmmm, maybe because for once he was steriod free) he tested positive for amphetamines
just last year (funny he somehow had a resurgance 2005-2006), so honestly, how serious can we talk his "I'm sorry" this time around?

Re: Giambi finally admits to steriods
I kind of liked what Frank Robinson said in the article. Basically to the effect of: "Jason, you think everyone involved should apologize? Okay. How about you start?"

While clearly being more than apologizing for vague reasons, "I"m sorry for doing that stuff" is kind of a weak statement.

"Interesting. No wait, the other thing. Tedious." -Bender Bending Rodriguez.

Re: Giambi finally admits to steriods
The fact that he came out and said that days before they released that he tested positive for amphetamines (maybe he knew they were about to release it and pre-emptively apologized), "I'm sorry I did it" sounds more like "I'm sorry I got caught"
