crisp with chance to visit dl

It would seem while reported to not be serious; and crisp may still come back at some point this weekend or even thursday; remy mentioned on last nights game crisp may be headed for a 15 day stay on the dl. Thus far crisp and marte have been far from what their respective teams were hoping for. Right now it seems like atlanta got the best end of the deal with renteria who continues to be a reliable bat. Really we're lucky a guy like youkilis has turned out to produce like he does. In my mind he replaces the offense the redsox planned to get from filling the damon-hole with crisp. Heres hoping crisp finds a way to maintain health and a bat at the same time....

Deja vu all over again
Why do I get the feeling that this surfeit of CF options will quickly turn into none? See last year, with the SP situation. Hold on to as many ML players as possible, don't rush minor leaguers up until they're absolutely required.

I'm not saying we don't have concerns: but I would be cautious here.

Why not us again?

Re: crisp with chance to visit dl
The Red Sox lead the league in wins, have enjoyed excellent pitching, and have had some great come-from-behind victories.

I refuse to panic about the lack of production from CF. If this continues to be a problem, I would expect Theo to swing something at the trade deadline. Most teams don't have much production from CF.

When Crisp was underperforming, many wanted WMP in. Now WMP is struggling at the plate people want Crisp back. Honestly, it's April, is it really the right time to talk about dumping both Crisp and Pena?

And don't forget Manny is struggling too. Let's just dump 'em all for a bucket of balls!

But seriously, if we're 1/8 of the way through the season and have the best record in the league even with these problems, there's no reason to hit the panic button. Manny will step it up, and neither Crisp nor WMP is likely to slump this badly all season.

yes please.
Just my two cents. Keep the change.

Is Ichiro really going to be worth it? He's a declining player, surely. I'll be brave (foolish) and say that Ellsbury in 2009 and beyond will be a better bet.
Why not us again?

I'll say foolish.

: )

But I'll happily eat crow.

Just my two cents. Keep the change.

Re: crisp with chance to visit dl
Yeah, me too, now that I think about it. But in terms of the cost of acquiring Ichiro, I don't think it'll be worth it.
Why not us again?

Re: crisp with chance to visit dl
This would be a terrible deal. We would essentially have to give up some serious talent to lease an aging player for 3 months. Maybe, MAYBE (but still probably not) they sign him in the offseason.

Re: crisp with chance to visit dl
I would think the Sox would only pull the trigger on Ichy if they could try to bang out an extension beforehand.

Think they'd do it for Bowden, E. Martinez and Coco or WMP? I would.

Just my two cents. Keep the change.
