Former Sox pitcher becomes a Billionaire
He couldn't even make a two million dollars a season in the big leagues, but now he's racking in a hell of a lot more than that.
Former Red Sox pitcher Matt White just found out he's the owner of $2 billion dollars worth of slate:
While clearing out a couple acres to build a home, he discovered stone ledges in the ground, prompting him to have the property surveyed.
A geologist estimated there were 24 million tons of the stone on his land. The stone is being sold for upward of $100 per ton, meaning there's well over $2 billion worth of material used for sidewalks, patios and the like.
I feel bad for his aunt. I'm pretty sure she deserves at least a couple hundred million, don't you think?
