Health report

I don't have it in me to do any analyzing, so I thought I'd post this as a diary instead of a story. Here are the latest reports, the latest i know of, on the injuries to sawx players:

Manny: Manny's MRI was negative and showed no structural damage in the knee. He'll be listed as day-to-day instead of going on the DL, which is very good news.

Tek: He estimates that he's about a week away from returning.

Beckett: The finger issue that forced him to leave yesterday's game early wasn't a blister but a cut. It is, however, on a finger that Beckett has had problems with before. Whether or not he's fit to start the next time his slot is up is yet to be decided.

Gonzo: No news on the status of his strained oblique muscle.

Wake: "Played catch" yesterday. He will most likely not, despite initial hopes for it, be able to return during this west coast trip.

Clement: I'm not even sure that I care...

David Ortiz and his irregular heartbeat. He seems okay, thankfully. Fingers and toes crossed.

Do we know Trot's status? Done for the season? I think I've missed out on updates.

Yes, Ortiz himself confirmed it, but declined further comments and even let the Sox offical spokesman know that he has said all he is going to say regarding it. Francona even said that Ortiz had asked him not to comment on it when asked by reporters about the story after Thursday's game. It was nothing more then a false scare

cooked for the season too. And Pauley (forearm) and Alvarez (broken ankle).

Good grief. What a catalogue of disaster. No wonder we've only got a 11% chance of making the playoffs (see here).

(not that you can entirely lay the blame on injuries)

That's pretty cool, funny part is looking at the Mets and seeing a 99.999% chance of making the playoffs, how funny would it be (and how pissed off would you be if you are a Mets fan) if they somehow did screw-up and didn't make the playoffs

Who you kidding, we need Clement back and we need him back right now....yeah right, but on a seriously note, the Manny thing, the Hamstring/knee thing looked like an excuse to not play (Manny being Manny) so if this is true the MRI was just a way for management to call his bluff without upsetting him (as in oppose to actually telling him "No, you have to play, we know you're full of it"). Gonzo: like you said, no news, but based on the type on injury is expected to be back in a little over a week from now. Tek: They plan on him being ready Sept. 1 give or take a couple days depending on if they think he needs some minor league rehab games
