Dustin Pedroia joins the Big Club

Great news for fans of one of our system's stars. Dustin Pedroia has been called up to the Red Sox and is set to make a start against the Angels later today. (Early suggestions are that Alex Gonzalez has gone on the DL.)

also, his nickname shoukd be Dupe or any variations thereof (duper, the dupestah, dupemeister, duuuuuuuuuuuuuupe!) and his batting music should most definitely be moz's "in the future when all's well". at least for this season.

After watching last night game and seeing Dusty next to the likes of Ortiz and Pena I think the comparision to Scrappy is absolutely perfect, a little fireball with incrediable energy that his size would not suggest

I gotta say I did think I would have a reason to be overly excited or overly anxious to see todays game, but damn I can't wait to finally see how he handles himself in the bigs. He doesn't even have to do great because everyone has first game jitters, I'll just be excited to see promise

Manny hurt his hamstring yesterday. I wouldn't be surprised if he sits for a few days, but unless it's really serious, he ought to be available to pinch hit.
