hellooooo inning
brilliant first inning for the sox. clement gives up a walk but no runs. then came the offense. i shall recap with a play-by-play.

youk grounds out to lead off.
ice-cold mark then doubled.
papi then got ahead in the count 3-0 and was intentionally walked after that.
manny then walked. unintentionally.
trot then grounded into a force out at 2nd but scored loretta.
tek doubled after that (he's working a 13 or 14 game hitting streak) scoring papi.
the double-machine known as mike lowell then, not so surprisingly, doubled. drove in trot and tek.
wily mo (batting .379 his last 8 starts) then singled to left and drove in lowell.
gonzo flew out to right (advanced catch pƄ hinske) to end the inning.

yeah, that's right. all nine got to bat in the first friggin inning. hoorah for josh towers, had it not been for him the sox would be 0-7 against the blue jays to start the season. he's the only one we've beaten...

with that, i feel secure in calling it an early
night despite the blue jays powerful offensive lineup. may this not somehow be botched into a loss. good night.

And Clement....
... looks pretty darn good so far.  One hit, three walks, no one got past first....

Knocking wood, of course.
