what are your thoughts?
So it looks like the only holes left next year (assuming we sign Matsuzaka) is at closer and backup catcher. Alot of names have been thrown out, and theres a rumor that we might sign Gagne soon. Toby Hall seems to be popular on this site. What is everyone else's thoughts?
I am personally a fan of Toby Hall. He's played in the AL East before, so it shouldn't hurt him to move back to a division where he knows the pitching etc. He just needs to learn how to catch the knuckle, and we'd be golden.
For closer, I had another idea... How about grabbing Bobby Jenks? The White Sox just signed MacDougal, who was Kansas City's closer two years ago to an extension for three years. He's got great stuff, and my bet is he takes over the close role from Jenks next year anyways. Why not sign a guy whose proven he can handle playoffs pressure, and let him gass 100mph fastballs down Damon's throat?
What do you guys think?
