I think its really funny how all New York fans are so outraged by the $51.11 million that we threw to the Lions to negotiate.  I mean honestly.  You're all just hating.  It was a one time investment that 1. got us the best FA pitcher out there, 2. didn't lose us any prospects, 3. got us hooked into the largest baseball market outside of the US.  

I think its especially funny how people from the New York laugh at us spending over $100 million on one guy.  Have you people never heard of the luxury tax?!?  Do you realize you've been paying that much EVERY SEASON for the past decade?  That that money won't ever be used in the same league as us, whereas some of your money just went to sign Gil Meche in Kansas City?!?  

Here's a new flash: Bobby Abreu is acutally going to cost your asses $30 mil for a season and a half because his entire salary is over the luxury tax.
