Rant

When the Red Sox have Kevin Millar playing first base, and they have a lead late in the game, what do they (Red Sox) do? They put in a defensive replacement, even if Millar has been crushing the ball all game. Why do they do this? They want to have the best defensive team, for obvious reasons. But, my question is, if they pull Millar, shouldn't they pull Edgar Renteria?  Renteria has 24 errors, more then Mueller, Millar, Graffanino, and Cora COMBINED. Come on Terry, you do it to your buddy Millar, do it to Rent if there is less then a 5 run lead. He nearly cost the team the game against the Devil Rays when he bobbled a routine double play. Pull him late in the game and put in Cora or Machado, it just makes sense.

Speaking of Defensive Replacements, where would this team be without John "Olderdude" Olerud? He has to be the best acquisition the Sox made, and quite possibly the best thing to happen to the team all season, well, next to Mark Bellhorn going down with an injury. The first base duo are hot, and have propelled this ball club to a few wins as of late, lets hope it continues.

I haven't had a chance to make this comment so I will now: I would also like to take the time to thank the New York Yankees, yes, the Evil Empire, thanks for picking up (and employing) the Red Sox's trash.

He does seem to make mistakes on "easy" plays. But some errors come on balls hit that most SS could attemp to get to. I do agree with you about Olerud, he is the MAN, and about Bellhorn, he needed to go
