Cla Meredith Promoted to AAA

I just read that the Sox promoted Portland closer Cla Meredith to AAA.  The kid has been nasty this year, Meredith had not allowed a run in 15 innings of work, yielding a total of five hits and yielding only one runner past second base. He converted all nine of his save opportunities and is now 27-for-27 in his career in save chances.

Is this kid the Sox closer of the future, a possible September callup, or trade bait for the 2005 playoff run?

Cla
This is great news. The kid has been filthy all season long. Now it's time to see how he does with some better hitters.

Cla
Never saw the guy pitch, but I've been following his boxscores. He looks like he could be damn good. If only it had happened a couple days earlier! I was at Pawtucket last night.

Either way, I don't want the guy traded. You can -never- have too many bullpen arms.

Cla
Cla looks for real too. Everywhere he has pitched, he has pitched very well.

Could we possibly see another promotion later in the year if he continues to dominate? I believe so. Especially if Foulke continues to struggle. I'm not saying Cla would be our closer, but he could definitely be a good middle man this year.

Cla
Next year he could be huge. Timlin and Embree might be gone, so could help fill the void.

And now he has been promoted to Boston.
